The inspiration for this month's Art Recipe might just as well be the "Golden Brown" song by The Strangles! Leaves + golden tones of Sparks paints + Art Extravagance Rust Effect Pastes + Micro Beads + Art Alchemy Waxes = gorgeous fall hues perfect for so many projects!
"I really love to make home decor elements that can make my house look special in autumn and winter seasons. This time I made a small lantern using an ordinary glass jar. It was quite simple really: I wrapped a little bit of string around the top edge and covered it with Finnabair's Rust Paste. The result was a great rugged structure that helped me create the whole "worn" look. I applied Red Amber Antique Brilliance Wax - simply using my fingers to highlight all the details and give a little bit of glow." ~ Kasia Bogatko - site link
To complete my project, I added Mechanicals embellishments, also treated with Rust Paste and Wax. I used all three pastes from the set. I think mixing them all (in different proportions, you decide which look you prefer) will give you the best results. To soften the colors, gently applied White Gesso to the jar. The icing on the cake are Micro Beads which I glued on around the edge of my jar with 3D Matte Gel.
My October lantern looks best after dark, but even without the lights inside, it is also a beautiful decoration of my house.

Hello, friends! I am so happy I can be a guest in Prima Art Recipe again! Today I prepared for you a special project full of textures and layers. It's a wooden house with golden and rusty accents. ~ Marta Turska-Grochocka - site link
First of all, I created the textures in the background using the Checker Stencil and Light Modeling Paste. Later on I painted my project with Sparks Dragon's Eye Paint. The edges of my project were painted with Rust Pastes, which I sprayed with water to create splashes and drips of paint. The Resist Canvas was colored using Sparks Ginger Magic paint. I sprayed my canvas with water and I applied a bit of paint using my finger.
In the background I added some metal embellishments and Micro Beads around my composition. I think my project is an unusual and mysterious frame for the vintage picture of a beautiful lady. I think she looks very pretty in colors of autumn.

Hi there, lovelies, so I'm a little excited with Halloween just around the corner - time to start decorating the house. YAY! Don't you just love creating your very own bespoke decorations too? I know I do and I didn't hold back with this month's recipe, which is full of sparkle and texture. ~ Kassa Hayselden - site link
I found the Rust Pastes perfect for covering my pumpkin. It was the perfect color, of course, and the texture finish gave the ribbed look of a real pumpkin. (I couldn't resist throwing a few Art Stones in for extra gnarled texture too!) The rich colors and high shine from the Waxes easily brushed into the lush texture highlighting its beauty.
Sparks paint dribbles down my pumpkin, while adding a dash here and there on the waxed Mechanical flowers adds a magical twinkle. The Micro Beads give the flowers an alternative texture to the pumpkin and, by allowing the beads to drop from the flowers onto the pumpkin, the flowers and the pumpkin blend together seamlessly. You are never too old to decorate, appreciate, and most of all have FUN with Pumpkins! :)
