Another Amazing Art Recipe From The Finn Team!

The magic combination for the October Finnabair Art recipe is Clear Crackle Paste + Clear Gesso + Rust Pastes = incredible, touchable texture! This month's theme is "Long Autumn Evenings". With the cool temperatures and gorgeous scenery, there is nothing better than a long autumn evening for relaxing and spending time with family and friends! As always, the Finn Team has created a bunch of awe-inspiring mixed media masterpieces for you to enjoy!

"The older I get, the more I find autumn the most appealing season of the year. Love the foggy mornings, so still and tranquil just the whisper of autumn leaves rustling. The sound of the rain on my window panes is pure music to my ears. It´s full of magic and mystery. For me it´s the only time of the year when I feel like reading some gripping stories in my armchair. That´s why I came up with a bookmark set. I decided to use muted colours for the background and striking yellowish as a contrast point." ~ Denisa Gryczova

"I started off by applying Clear Gesso on craft paper. I let it dry and painted the surface with Heavy White Gesso here and there. I had to let it dry again and then I did some stencil work using Light Texture Paste. When dry, I covered the entire paper with Heavy Black Gesso. When still wet, I grabbed a wet baby tissue and wiped away most of the gesso. This way you achieve perfect shading around the textured items. Then I let it dry and added some more colours using Art Alchemy Acrylics. I also did some random stamping using black Archival ink."

"Then I applied a thick layer of Clear Crackle Paste and let it dry overnight to get perfect crackles. In the morning, I covered the crackled areas with Black Gesso and again when still wet I wiped off the extra gesso. The crackles remained black and were emphasized. Then my background was finished.
I cut the paper into three tags, inked the edges and formed the wire into a desired shape. Then I painted it with Rust Paste and let it dry. I attached the wire to the tag (I used 3D foam tape on the back and pressed the tag on the pad)."

"I had some yellow leaves that had already been stamped. I glued the stamped leaf into the wire circle and then added a vintage pic. I also used tiny Mechanicals just to embellish the tags a bit. As the final touch I glued on the sentiments in black and white."

"I used Clear Gesso, 3D Gloss Gel and Clear Crackle Paste to create the effect of rain. I created the texture and compositional center on the layout using acrylic paints and magic powder. I added a little Texture Powder to the paint, mixed it and applied the paint through a stencil."
