Iron Orchid Décor simply revolutionized the industry with their beautiful bohemian, rustic, french flea-market release at CHA in January! From VIntage Art Décor Moulds to Roller Stamps to Wall Décor Stamps, Décor Transfers, and Décor Ink, and so much more...each item in their gorgeous line-up was received with much fanfare! You simply cannot find products with this particular look on the market...especially not for DIYers! (Speaking of DIY, catch all of IOD's latest and greatest on their Facebook page and catch Prima's latest projects and tips right here on our very own DIY/Home Décor Facebook group!)
Today we are exploring just one of their items: The new and fabulous Vintage Art Décor Moulds! These babies are really well made. They have amazing details. They work with our air-dry paperclay, of course, but imagine them with: wax (for candlemakers), hand-made soaps, hot glue accents, and so much more. Since they are food-safe they pair perfectly with chocolate (ooh-la-la), candy melts (think party decorations), fondant (cakes and cupcakes galore), and anything else your culinary creativity comes up with in the kitchen! Did your world of ideas just open up a little? Today we asked three of our designers to create papercraft projects using the moulds + paperclay on any project they fancied!
Hello, smooth sailing! Altered items, like this AMAZING sailboat by Miranda Edney, would be so expensive to purchase. But add a touch of French Riviera papers, a few Prima flowers, and two beautiful paperclay accents from the IOD moulds, and you have a STUNNER to put on display! Did we mention that you can paint or spray the moulded pieces once they are dry?

Even the simplest things can get a make-over with a few pieces made with the new IOD Moulds and Paper Clay. This is a 6x6 ceramic tile that Robbie Herring altered by adding a few beautiful, flower mould pieces. Robbie chose to use the back of the tile, because it was porous, and allowed the Color Bloom Spray to seep in to coordinate perfectly with the Moulds that she had also sprayed. Once the moulded pieces were dry Robbie added a touch of Art Alchemy Steampunk Copper over the details to make them pop. AMAZING!
Think of all the places in your home you could add fun accents like this to: door frames, drawer pulls, cabinet doors, vanities....and this goes on and on! You can also mold them on rounded surfaces when still wet for a custom fit on candlesticks, flower pots, and a million other items!

Yes, the moulds make perfect little accents for your cards too! Evgenia Petzer created two gorgeous cards for us today...one with the natural paperclay, molded and air-dried to create a beautifully-detailed frame on this card.
And one with colored clay she found in a craft store! Of course you can mix in Finnabair's mica powder to create a shimmery, colored clay...or use the pre-colored clay at your local craft store for beautiful results! Now you can create custom-colored accents for your cards over and over again. They're light-weight, highly-detailed, and so fun to create!

Over the last couple of years I have grown to love all things IOD! Miranda's sail boat is gorgeous! I a dying to get my hands on quite a few of their new products because I want to use them to redo my bedroom! Once Uncle Sam loosens his fist and sends my tax money my way I am going on an IOD/Prima shopping spree and then getting busy making my bedroom a beautiful and relaxing place to spend time in!!! TFS!
