If you've never tried a Julie Nutting doll stamp then today is your lucky day! We have three projects filled with inspiration using these adorable doll stamps and our new Prima Palette Markers. Each project highlights a unique way to use these alcohol markers on the doll projects!
Our first project, by Ania Hababicka, shows how cute the Party Girl stamp is. She stamped her on watercolor paper, colored her with Prima Palette Blonde and Sapphire, then cut her out. To create extra dimension she stamped the hair and skirt twice, then popped the pieces on foam. The results: A cute party piece made just for the special birthday girl
Did you know that you can make backgrounds with Palette Markers, too? My art journal background has white gesso as a base. You'll see why soon! Palette Markers were colored on the backdrop and a Blending Solution added to create beautiful blending. The gesso prevents the alcohol-based markers from soaking into the paper, while the blending solution turns the marks into artsy color fun!
The Julie Nutting stamp, on the other hand, got a “Nathalie Kalbach” twist with a magazine photo. I used the face from an advertisement, but also stamped the garments on top of the paper to keep the look coherent.
