October ushers in a new season filled with chilly nights, gorgeous falling leaves, and crisp apple harvest! (Unless you live in the southern hemisphere, then you have the exact opposite!) Either way our fresh palette will bring a twist of warm richness to your projects. Look for deep navy, cozy browns, aged copper metals, and a touch of time-proven leather! Once you get creating just enter your Prima-based projects using the blue inlinkz buttons under each challenge! Here are a few samples to get you in the creative mood!

"The first things that got my attention on the color mood board were the weathered wood underneath the La Rochelle Antique Trinkets...and the leather on the left. The feeling of the board also turned my thoughts to times long gone. So, I rummaged through the Finnabair Ephemera pouch for inspiration and decided to use one of the pictures from there as the focal point. I used Chalk Edgers, together with the Oil Pastels, to turn the pale wood into weathered one, and also included the wonderful leather-like paper from the Memory Hardware collection into my piece." ~ Riikka Kovasin

October's sketch, by the one and only Riikka Kovasin, is completely amazing with a triple photo spot, condensed journaling lines, a wonderfully lowered title, and a fantastic media-filled backdrop! Our designers on both teams: Design Team and Educators LOVED it so much! here are a few samples for you to get your mojo going!
"I used ink and paper to separate work areas. I like the combination of black and coral...as it is bright and gentle at the same time. This work of love is time. Today, tomorrow, always! Today I show a lyrical mood in my artwork! ~Irina Angold
"I couldn't resist playing with the amazing sketch this month. The Royal Menagerie paper was begging me to use it. I have to admit layouts are definitely not my "thing." I get very uneasy staring at this flat piece of paper! LOL. But using a sketch helps me so much!!!! There are so many ways to interpret it! It just gives a great jumping off point, which I needed!" ~ Miranda Edney

“I admire Rikka and I was happy to see that the sketch was proposed by her. I like to work with several photos and create a scene. I took this sketch and used the photos of the son of a great friend scrapbooker, Livia. I followed her history and I'm happy to do this tribute to her. Thank you, Livia! I worked with stencils, light paste, and stamps. I found the result simply incredible.” Luciana Warnowski

Marilyn Rivera also used just one photo of her and a Prima friend, Jennifer! How fun that two amazingly talented ladies connected through scrapbooking. Marilyn's page follows the basic elements of the BAP sketch, but added a variation of personal style...which is exactly what a great sketch sets a creative mind to do!

Where can I find your Oil Pastels?
Posted by: Denise Sullivan | Monday, October 05, 2015 at 12:11 AM
Hey Denise! They should be shipping out to retailers right now! If you do not have a local store let us know and you should be able to find them at some of the larger online scrapbook stores! :) Sharon
