Layouts + Oil Pastels?

Happy Monday! We're wrapping up our super fun feature on the creative uses of our new oil pastels and how to create so many amazing effects with them. From home decor to Bible Journaling, our IOD Oil Pastels are TRULY remarkable and SO versatile. Today we will show multiple techniques on how to use them to color your layouts, while over the past week we've shown how to use them to:

"Whenever I use oil pastels or paint, I will prime my cardstock with gesso first. It will help bring out the actual color of the oil pastels, while giving the whole page a vibrant look too." ~Jessy Christopher

"It's true I do love pink and I thought I would have a go at seeing just how many different shades of pink I could make using just the magenta oil pastel and water; and just how many different ways I could apply it." ~Joanne Bain

"I managed to create quiet a few different shades, as you can see, and was able to apply them using quite a few different techniques. For the background I made my own spray mist using some oil pastel shavings and water. I highlighted the stenciled poppies by rubbing the colour over these with my finger."

"I also stamped the paint runs in the background by applying the oil pastel directly to the stamp and spritzing with water; finally I painted with them to colour the flowers. So, as you can see, these little beauties are fun to use and extremely versatile." ~Joanne Bain

Absolutely amazing creations!! This post just makes me want the Prima/IOD Oil Pastels even more!!! So hoping that hubby can find the money to get them for my Birthday but I won't hold my breath since he has only gotten me 2 presents in the 27 years we have been together!
