Riikka's work is simply fabulous and caught our eye right away! We are so excited to present her as our June Guest Designer! Let's get to know her a bit more and see a bit of her fabulousness!
My name is Riikka Kovasin. I’m from Finland, living with my family in the capital Helsinki. I consider myself most of all a scrapbooker, but lately I’ve been drawn to experiment with ATCs, canvases, and altered projects as well. The number one topic in my pages is my family, more over my two daughters, but I’m trying to scrapbook myself and my husband, too. I adore to dip my fingers to paints and pastes, and that love sometimes leaves the "work-me" with strangely colored hands. I relax through crafting and, to me, the process of creating is equally important than the finished craft. I feel really fortunate and lucky that I’ve been chosen to design for different teams. I also contribute regularly to Craft Stamper magazine and enjoy sharing my creative process both through videos and in-person workshops.
I used the PPP color palette in both of my layouts. As the BAP project had more of the green and teal side of the palette I chose to go with the orange and red in this layout. I also was inspired by the products shown in the collage – butterflies, roses and tiny touches of metal. ~Riikka

Elena Olinevich also joined in our PPP challenge this month with this gorgeous creation! She loved the richer tones of olive, gold, and pops of bright fuchsia in the color palette for June! Combining them in differing amounts resulted in this beautiful layout!
Delaina's brilliant design fits well for both the PPP and our BAP sketch this month! "I gathered multiple circle dies for this LO. I scattered scalloped, solid and open circles to make this photo pop. The addition of background stitching add to the depth and completes the page." ~ Delaina Burns

This may be our favorite sketch yet by Keren! With delightful movement created with circular designs all over the page, the whole focus still lands directly on the round photo! Just think of the creative ways to create those circles! Here are a few to get you going!
- round stamps
- stencils
- watercolors
- sprays
- stamping with cups or plates
- hand stitching

"I immediately fell in love with the circular shapes in the sketch! One of my favorite things to do when scrapbooking is to grab a pencil and doodle loose circles to the background to guide the eye in. Those swirls in the sketch reminded me of these, so I grabbed a pencil after adding some mist and paint to the page. I also added circles with two different stamp sets, and added a larger circle on top of my photo using Black Wire Thread. " ~Riikka
