"I would like to celebrate the strength of people around the world in their fight with Breast Cancer. I really love the flow of the Bloom Girl stamps and the elements of nature that are incorporated. That's why I chose Bloom Girl stamp- Gardenia to represent Mother Nature. I thought the combination of the large Bloom Girl stamp, paired with the smaller, delicate Julie Nutting stamp "Riley", illustrated the relationship of nature to human. Mother Nature is strong, but WE are stronger." ~Jennifer

"October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I used the Bloom Girl stencil, "Free Spirit" to create this BRAVE woman in honor of all the women out there who are battling, or have battled with this disease. And to remember those who lost the battle. Breast Cancer has affected my family more than once, so this brave woman is very near and dear to my heart. We can't choose our path in this lifetime, but we can choose the way we will accept what comes our way. So may this BRAVE woman bring courage to those who need it. May we all be blessed with health and happiness always!!" ~Keren

Julie's and Jamie's stamp lines truly embrace the strength of ALL women (and girls) of the world, yet each leaves them free enough in design for you to add your personal touch...your personal story. Delaina's girl, "Dita", is filled with LOVE for each of you who might be stricken with cancer right now. May she remind you that ALL of us are on your side. We are thinking of you, and praying for your healing and strength!
"Inspiration: This project is a tribute for those families that have lost mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and children to cancer…the ‘orphaned’ souls because ‘every child has a mother’." ~Wendy
I used a piece of Prima paper with this tribute ‘Orphaned’ in the frame on the front cover on my art journal.
I used the color ‘pink’ in tribute to breast cancer awareness month, but was also inspired to implement the ‘pink’ color in watercoloring the Bloom Girl stamps, details, and accents within my project.
I’m always inspired by the words of Maya Angelou and what a legend she is in speaking to the soul of those in raw tones and her beautiful depth of words.
I used her words on the ‘she gathered bachelor buttons’ page in my art journal…in particular, “I’ve learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.”
I wanted to send words in tribute to those blessed to have a second chance in life in the cancer battle.
The
Bloom Girl stamps I used in my stamp focus are symbolizing courage, strength, and looking ahead in the direction for positive light and optimism. ~Wendy

These are all gorgeous and have a special place in my world! I discovered some lumps in my breast last Thursday and had a mammogram and ultrasound on Monday where they found even more lumps. The doctor wants me to go back in a month for another ultrasound in 30 days and then we are going to decide on a plan for going forward.
I am just thankful that I do breast self exams regularly and found it early enough to have time to sit back and digest things. I am a four time cancer survivor and know that even if this turns out to be cancer that it won't get me because I have death-defying super powers! My hubby came home from work on July 13, 2009 and found me dead. No pulse, no breathing. Literally dead. He brought me back and kept me alive till the ambulance arrived and they lost me a couple of times on the way to the hospital. Obviously I lived but spent lots of time in the ICU. So, yes, I really do have death-defying superpowers!!!
My wish is that all cancer would be wiped out so nobody had to deal with it!

Thank you so much for your kind words!! It is just another speed bump in the road of my life! I have gotten pretty good at speeding up right before the bump and flying right over them! LOL <3
