Wearable Art with Jamie Dougherty

It's that time of year again where school is starting and we are running out of ideas for that standout outfit for the first day of school. Who are we kidding? Everyday has to be a standout day and a shirt like this will make a statement! Jamie will show you how you can take a plain old t-shirt, onesie, or even a pair of pants and turn them into a one of a kind piece of wearable art. The best part is you don't need much to recreate them!

Extra Materials:
- Acrylic paint (Liquitex Basics have a nice flexible finish) Colors used teal and pink and gold paint ( metallic paints may fade over time)
- Acrylic Medium or Silkscreen Medium
- Beads to stitch onto the shirt
- Muslin or plain fabric
- Palette knife or old gift card
- Spray adhesive (Krylon makes a really good one)
- Piece of cardboard or stiff chipboard to slip between the layers of your garment
- Heat gun
- Paint Brush
- Water
- Fabric adhesive (Beacon Fabri-Tac)

Always love checking out Jamie's videos, really appreciate learning so much about different mediums and how they work. So cool seeing how she used the stencil for screen printing, putting the black gesso to the side all the way down and then just using her card to move it in even strokes. Very clever gal, Jamie! thank you so much for sharing my love! xoxo
