Today's Frugal Friday is brought by the very talented Keren Tamir! Keren likes to pack a lot on a page, and she successfully carried on her tradition while on a budget. Come see how!
"Sweetie Pie, Oh So Sweet"
"I never thought I could create a layout so frugal
in cost and make it look so much more expensive. I've attached a short
step by step on how I created it and I also included six tips on how to
create a frugal project."
Frugal Tips:
(How to make a layout look expensive, yet be frugal in cost)
1. Save your scraps. As you can see, I used lots of scraps from the Anna Marie Collection to build this layout.
2. Buy reusable items like masks and stamps. I used the circled mask here to create an interesting background.
3.
Fussy-cut elements from your pages to use as layers on your layouts. I
fussy-cut some flowers and frames to create more layers and volume on
this layout.
4. Buy products that contain numerous items like
the wood icons or small flowers, that way you can use them over and over
again. I used my wood icons and flowers here and I still have so many
to spare for another project.
5. Use your packaging. I often use my Prima packaging to create layers in my layout.
6. Create lots of layers on your project. Use foam tape to raise your layers to create depth.

Gorgeous - lovely layout and colours - well done on meeting the challenge! Not sure I'd manage that in the UK - everything so much more expensive here! No harm in trying though! lol...

Love the tips! Thank you for sharing them. I too am a "scraps" scrapbooker. My pages are loaded with discards! im a self proclaimed "garbage scrapper".. the more "stuff" i can get on a page- the more complete it feels for me! To this day, upon perusal of my old pages, i have been known to perhaps add an element or 3! I have scraps that could possibly date my beginnings if so
Someone was curious enough to investigate my pages! When our local store closed, I was the only
DT member to beeline and call dibs on the scraps drawer! It was like Christmas for me! Random letters- odd diecuts and bits o ribbon are better than any package I can buy! Happy to see someone else who covets what others may consider trash!
