>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Anna Dabrowska,
also known as Finnabair. I'm a Polish mixed-media artist, scrapbooker and
art journaler who loves new challenges, experiments and developing new
techniques and skills. I've been creating since 2007, started
scrapbooking in 2008-2009, and mixed-media in 2009 when I got totally
addicted.
My projects are mostly media-based: I make paper and canvas layouts,
collages and altered art, tags, journal pages – and many more. I believe
in power of recycling and upcycling and just adore texture, paints of
any kind and flea market supplies. Freedom, embracing creativity and
being true to your inner voice is my main source of inspiration and
creative energy.
I'm a full-time designer and artist. As an experienced traveling
teacher I offer a range of my own mixed media-based classes in collage,
scrapbooking, art jouraling and more. I create as a freelance designer
for scrapbooking magazines. I design projects, products and support such
international brands as Sizzix UK and 7 Dots Studio
What is your line called?
This release I'm coming with 3
lines - one of them is continuation of the embellishment line called
"Mechanicals". This name was inspired by Cari, who came up with the idea of
a name combining "botanical" and more grungy, heavy elements - because
it is what this line about! Mixing, matching, changing, repurposing -
inspiration in a box!.
The next one is "Elementals" - a line of resist
printed canvas sheets and elements supported by a range of stencils of
all kinds and patterns - something for everyone, I hope! Finally we have
"Vintage Vanity" - inspired by old paper, magazines, adverts, maps. It
is an ideal line for art journaling: there is a small journal, A4
vintage paper pad and a selection of stamps - starting with vintage book
pages, adverts and texts, beautiful doily patterns and finishing with
more grungy, but very versatile, "all time favorites" - bricks, checked
and harlequin patterns, nets, dots... a bit of this and that, great for
scrapbooking, art journaling and mixed-media projects!
Where did the idea come to create a line for Prima?
"Mechanicals" were inspired by my "rubbish boxes" - jars, tins, and chocolate boxes full of little bits of all shapes and colors I collect and use for my projects. I was hoping to create a "starter kit" for people who want to try a bit of altering the embellishments, adding a "personal mark" on their project. My main goal was to make them play and encourage them to look a bit differently on their stash of embellies... everything can be uses as long as you can mix it with other elements, alter it, cut it or paint it, right?
When creating it was there anything in particular that inspired you?
You also scrapbook and teach! What do you think the students love the most about using your products?
