Let's see how many ways you can use one of Prima's NEW stencils!
All of our new stencils are available in 6x6 (shown) and 12x12!
............................................................................................................
We also have a boutique line of art stencils by Donna Downey for this release:
These six gorgeous designs are also available in 6x6 & 12x12!
.........................................................................................................................................
One of our signature collections by Finn, Sunrise, Sunset has stencils too!
960179 is available in 12x12 also!
...................................................................................................................................
So let's get started with a few stencil ideas for you!
Idea 1. Trace Around The Design
by Designer Leslie AsheSuch a simple, yet fun idea...just trace around the stencil design with a pen...or a colored pencil for a whimsical accent on your page!
Tip: Try this when your page is just missing something...or an area seems too bare. If you use pencil make sure you seal the design so it doesn't smudge. Try SpectraFix for NO indoor fumes.

Ideas 2, 3, 4: Use with PanPastels, Inks, and Resin Sand
by Designer Solange Marques
Solange first used stencil 922382 with PanPastels and Distress Ink (blue and green). Next she applied a mix of resin sand and acrylic gesso on the chevron art stencil to get that incredible texture you can almost touch!
Stencils can add so much color, design and texture to any project!
Tip: Use multiple stencil with multiple mediums for maximum impact on your projects.

Idea 5. Use with Gesso
by Designer Brit Sviggum
Brit added gesso over the stencil with an old credit card (or hotel room key) for a nice even application.
She applied it straight on the Prima paper. After it dried she added her photo and embellies to create a wonderful playful feel.
Tip: This stencil is one of those designs that can be used for any theme! Make sure you wash your stencil quickly so the gesso does not dry.

Ideas 7 & 8: Use with Chalk Edgers and Paints
by Educator Jamie Dougherty
Use a variety of different paints and mediums to build dimension on your page with stencils. A few different stencil designs, in complimentary colors, can really make a page pop.
Tip: You don't have to use the whole stencil on your page. Just add accents, like Jamie did here, to create a visual triangle.
Tip 2: Pick a bright color that will pop off the page when adding bits and pieces from a stencil!

Idea 9. Use with Fiber Paste
by Designer Felicity Wilson
Any kind of paste can be used with our stencils...since they are thick they hold up to any medium and multiple washes. Felicity chose a light fiber paste for her design on this page. The look is not as clean & defined as gesso, since it has fibers in it, but it is great for a boy's page!
Tip: Experiment with ANY art medium you have in your scrap supplies! You will be amazed at how many work well with our stencils!

I have only just got my first stencil but am now hooked and have a list of what I want to add to my collection. Am loving the new stencils by the way, my list is getting longer LOL!! In my art supplies I found some coarse texture paste which has a consistency like sand - great for bricks, rocks or concrete and I have used that on several pages and loved the effect so now I have been out and bought a plain gel to play with. Keep it up Prima, love all the new releases.

I prefer using them with some kind of spray (Dylusions or Tattered Angels mist) because then I use several solours and have a spare cardstck next to the first and after spraying, I reverse the mask and use the sprayed side to make a pattern on the second cardstock!

Love to use gesso through a stencil and then spray with ink or glimmermist. Paper and gesso take up the colour differently so with one spray you get a beautiful coloured page.
