Today is a bittersweet day!
Jamie Dougherty is an amazing designer who has been on our team for over a year now. Due to her talent and teaching abilities she has recently joined our fabulous Educator Team, so she will be stepping down from our Design Team.
We are sad for ourselves, but so happy for Jamie and all of those lucky stores she will be teaching at! We wish you the best of luck, Jamie!
Hi. I'm Jamie Dougherty. I was lucky enough to be asked back to the team for a second year. And when I thought it was a dream the first time they asked me, the second time was downright unbelievable. I was so honored to be asked back with such an amazing team.
I live in southern CA in a small town called Ramona. I am thankful to have been raised here and still reside with my husband of eleven years and our two littles. You will often see their faces grace my scrapbook pages. We live near my family so a lot of time is spent together as a family. Which is one the greatest gifts I could ask for. Besides scrapbooking I love to read, and I mean A LOT, I also write. I enjoy spending time at the river. Soaking up the sun and swimming. With me if it is not art related it is family related.
I started scrapbooking in 2006 when my daughter was born, but I have always been involved in some aspect of art. I learned to paint and sew very young.
My grandmothers were both very crafty and artistic, and I am thankful they encouraged those traits in me. I studied fine arts and sculpting in High School and trades school. I loved the aspect of three dimensional art and feel it has helped me in what I do not with my scrapbooking and mixed media. My style isn't really set in one category. It somewhat varies on whatever idea that pops into my crazy head. I sometimes think that my imagination has a mind of it's own lol I love to try new techniques and ideas. Even if they don't always turn out the way i hoped at least I tried. Thank you for stopping by and getting to know me a little bit better.
