If you sat down and made a list about your favorite things about fall what would it include?
- I love the changing colors of the leaves. The beauty that surrounds fall is absolutely breathtaking! (Instant science lesson for the kids too-what tree produces yellow leaves? How about fire-engine red?)
- The crisp cold air makes me crave hot soup even more! Why is that exactly?
- Fall also reminds me of delicious Apple Festivals. Our family would all bundle up and head off to the Bayfield Apple Festival when we lived at the tippy-top of Wisconsin. It is incredible what people can do with apples...especially when it's freezing cold outside.
Which leads me to this amazing APPLE dip recipe that is so simple and so YUMMY!
I sent this recipe to my hubby one day...hint, hint! The next day he brought this lovely plate of goodness to me! Doesn't it look good? Isn't he sweet?
Here's the fun recipe that only calls for ONE ingredient:
You could put this yummy stuff in cute little jars and give as gifts! (If you don't eat it all first...speaking from EXPERIENCE here.)

Homemade Dulce de Leche
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Pour sweetened condensed milk into a shallow baking dish. Cover tightly with foil. Place in a larger pan, such as a roasting pan. Fill larger pan with hot water until water level reaches about half way up the baking dish. Cook for about 60 minutes and then check. Continue cooking if necessary. When a medium caramel color is reached, remove from oven and let cool. Whisk until smooth, store in fridge.
(Best Bites is one of my all-time favorite blogs for delicious recipes. The gals there are funny, their pics are stunning, and their recipes are YUMMY. Check them out and let me know what you think.)
