Welcome Lolly and the wreath is so pretty Cari! Also, congratulations to Amanda on her tag!
I was at the chat last night with Stayce and did love the canvas purse and it's a must have. The advent calendar was such a great idea with the puzzle pieces for each day. Thanks Stayce!!

YAY! I am so excited to be a part of the Live with Prima team! Thanks for the warm welcome!

HUGS!

Having My Golly Miss Lolly on the team, just gives me one more HUGE reason why being a Prima addict is a great thing.
Love Stayce's work. The colors she uses are fantastic. Off to watch some more Live with Prima episodes.

Congrats Lolly! I'm looking forward to all the awesome Prima classes coming up. It's always fun to watch the classes and learn new things. Thanks for the chance to win!

I felt so bad for Stayce. Hope she feels better. I loved the masks. I have to get those asap.

I liked the way that Stacey managed to be creative with her binding of the smaller refils and make it work with the project. Despite the chat problems, it was a great class to watch..... but is there a kit out anywhere rather than having to piece-meal it out thru different websites? I don't see it on any of the linked websites.

I've always wanted to make an advent calendar and now I have the perfect inspiration! Thanks Stayce!
Posted by: Ki Kruk | Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 03:33 PM
Yay! I'm so happy to hear Lolly will be a more common fixture on the LWP classes.
I thought Stayce's class was awesome, my favorite part was the way she incorporated the packaging onto her pages and the non-traditional Christmas colors that made it really versatile for other themes. It was also pretty funny that she was kinda taunting her kids with the Christmas surprise that they will have to wait to figure out (do I sound cynical?)
I'm sad that I didn't get to chat with all my friends last night, I hope to "see" them all Thursday for Cari's class. Which by the way looks so incredibly awesome!
Hugs!

I must say, I am quite shocked at that wreath. I am disturbed at the blatant rip off of my crate paper project. Thanks so much for the credit for my design inspiration! Needless to say I won't be promoting your class.
Posted by: Jenny Chesnick | Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 03:55 PM
Congrats Lolly - she is awesome & I'm so happy she will be a regular prima teacher. I only caught a little bit of Stacy's class & need to watch the recording - as always I come away wanting some products &the masks are at the top of my list

The wreath is a fantastic take on woe I saw on MrsChez's blog in August. I would have loved to have taken her in person class then.
Posted by: Carolyn D | Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 05:20 PM
The wreath is great, would have loved to have seen credit given to the person who inspired it, Jenny Chesnick. Scraplifting is ok when you give proper credit.
Shame....
Posted by: Loraine | Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 06:49 PM
The wreath is nice....It looks very simular to the one Jenny Chesnick posted on her blog a few months ago.

Congrats to Lolly!!! I can't wait to see her tree skirt class! And I am SO looking forward to Cari's class tomorrow! I'm completely addicted to Live with Prima classes! I was at the chat last night and it was a hoot, to say the least! Loved what Stayce did with the screens, using them as both a mask and a stamp!
Posted by: Mandi | Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 08:01 PM
Yep, that's a Chez wreath!! Doesn't anyone have any integrity anymore?
Posted by: judean | Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 08:32 PM
wow. look it's a jenny chesnick wreath. but I guess I missed where credit was given.
needless to say I might not be buying prima products anymore.

I love Prima, congrats to Lolly. I am disappointed that mrschez (Jenny Chesnick)isn't getting the proper credit for her wreath design. She has not only been making this wreath and variations there of for a couple of years now, she posted it for Crate Paper's blog. Please give her the proper credit.

There are several paper cone wreaths all over the internet and they have been around for years and years. The idea of creating one is not original, but perhaps the different styles and elements used to create one is. Google Rolled Paper Wreaths
Like this one for example:

I love the wreath Cari is making for Thursdays class. After reading all these comments I cannot believe how many people just assume the idea was "stolen". Did they ever stop to think that perhaps these types of crafts have been around much longer than the person who believes they "originally" created it?! After looking at the so called "original" I can see where Cari's differs dramatically. I think someone just has a big ego.
Posted by: Kristina | Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 01:21 PM
I have to agree with Kristina. These paper wreaths have been around for years. Hmmmm.. wonder where this Jenny Chesnick got her idea from. Come on people. Cari does not need to steal an idea from anyone. She gets by on pure talent! And look around. We are inspired everyday by each other. If anything this Jenny chic is going to get a nice showing for her class on Dec. 4th. She should be greatful for the inspiration. Cari is a Class act.
Posted by: Nicole H | Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 03:37 PM
Cari's wreath looks nothing like this Jenny girls. The Crate Paper wreath is huge and hurts the eyes with the busy pattern. Cari's is clean, neat, and elegant. Something you could actually hang on a wall or door.
I will not be buying Crate Paper anymore after seeing the attitude that Jenny girl displayed. She is not the creator of the paper wreath. Doesn't that go way back, decades, to who ever created those party displays with the fan folded crete paper. You know, the ones that you get to decorate for parties or holidays. Donna Downey just posted one on her FB. Did she steal the idea from Jenny too. I agree with the big ego. Wow.
Posted by: Alex | Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 03:53 PM
I love how creative she is! I had learned so much techniques and found out some great ideas
Posted by: LG Belarmino | Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 04:18 PM
First, Congrats Lolly...I think you're fabulous lol
Second, Chez and Cari are both posting what they feel openly and honestly. The rest of you jumping on one bandwagon or another without posting who you are or are not...that's pretty chicken poop. If you have an opinion and are going to share it, own up to it.
Third, No one is knocking Cari's wreath. While it's not my personal style, I still think it's beautiful. I think most would agree that the Crate wreath Chez created is also quite awesome. Alex, just because you wouldn't hang it on your wall doesn't mean that half a million other people wouldn't.
Last, I think the wreaths are very similar.
That's it...

I enjoyed Stayce's class immensely. She was very personable and had good humor, even with the chat problems. I loved the idea of an advent calendar that can be wrapped up and saved for the following year and the puzzle pieces in lieu of candy is a nice alternative to the traditional advent treats!
In regards to the paper wreath....I've been scrapbooking for 15 years and have seen wreaths with this type of styling for at least that long. Actually, my mom worked at Lee Wards (craft store that became Michael's years ago) and she learned a technique similar to this wreath using rolled pieces of wrapping paper way back in the 80's.
Looking forward to Cari's class tonight!

My first comment didn't post so ... Big Congrats to Lolly - I got to see one of her classes and loved it!! We are SO lucky!! I thought Stayce did a fantastic job even when she didn't know if anyone was watching. I absolutely love the idea of the advent purse - still in awe of that - but I LOVE the magnet picture puzzle of her family's Christmas present! There were several techniques I learned but the one I loved the most is reusing the mask once it is sprayed with glimmer mist. Thank you Stayce for the great project and for continuing with the class even with the UStream problems. Loved every minute of it!!!

I was very surprised and upset to see all the drama caused over the wreath. I know Cari PERSONALLY and she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is a talented designer and a class act. She simply would not "steal" anyone's design. Not to be rude, but who is Jenny Chesnick? Why should we (or Cari) know who she is and what she has created? These wreaths (just like scrapbook pages or cards) have been around for years! Who did Ms. Chesnick "steal" her design from? And, I looked up the wreath created by Jenny Chesnick. Cari's is nothing like yours. Hers is clean and polished and yours is very busy (not that there is anything wrong with busy). I think you could have handled this is a different way. To accuse someone of something before looking into it is unfair.
Cari- your wreath is beautiful. We love you, admire you and respect you. Keep up the great work my love.
