Introducing the 2010-2011 Prima Design Team

First off-a huge "Thank You" to everyone who applied to be a part of our team. We were truly humbled by the response and we appreciate the time and talent that you have shared with us!

It is never easy to pick a team and this year was no exception. The talent shared with us from around the world was phenomenal. We have so many loyal Prima crafters that we feel incredibly thankful for each one of you. If we could have every one on the team whom we LOVED, we would have a ginormous team! Since that isn't very realistic we FINALLY narrowed the field to these 18 amazingly talented designers.

Please help us welcome our 2010-2011 Prima Design Team.

We hope they inspire you throughout the year in ways you have never been inspired before!

I clean my scrap space constantly.  I often clean in the middle of project, and I ALWAYS clean at the end of every project before starting another one.  I work better in a clean space.

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

When is the best time for you to be creative: Anytime my two young children are sleeping!

We love that Alyssa always has a fun twist to her sweet projects. There is always a little surprise waiting to be discovered. We cannot wait to start looking for them!

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

1) say it in pearls and crystals

3) FLOWERS - right now my favourites are the madrigal blossom and zazi collections

I am known in my crafty circle as the glue gun girl. It is by far my favourite adhesive and I never scrapbook without it!

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

My most creative time starts around 9pm which is after my daughter has gone to sleep and the house chores have been done.  I crack open a cold can of Pepsi and the paper starts flying!

Amanda incorporates gorgeous hand-stitching (or other amazing touches) to her beautiful creations. Her use of bright colors and fun accents made us swoon over her work.

Anabelle O'Malley-US

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

It's hard to pick just three! But, if I have to right now I'd say I'm loving the Winter Roses,the touch of glitter on them is so pretty. I also am loving the entire Shabby Chic line! The soft colors are gorgeous.Finally, I find that I've been reaching for the colored pearls from the E line a lot. I love to use them as accents, flower centers, borders, etc.

My students and I helped pass a bill in the Delaware legislature. Thanks to us, the state's official nickname is 'The First State'. The governor even came to our school and signed the bill into law.

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

Early in the morning. I'm up by 5 and am usually in my scrap room with a cup of coffee shortly after that. I love this time of day before anyone is awake in my house!

We love Anabelle's soft and feminine style which works so well with many of our products. She was a guest designer for us before and was an absolute treat to work with.

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

My favorite Prima products are Donna Downey foam stamps (especially the tree, it's awesome!), Crystals (any shape, any color... just love bling :) and the Innocence flower collection because they are so great to customize!

Tell us something UNIQUE about you-it can be serious, funny or just plain silly.

I can touch my wrist with my thumb or the fact that the tip of my nose is always cold? Or that I have very dominant curly hair, yet my 3 beautiful children all have the dull-straight hair from their father... obviously his hair is even more dominant!

Or maybe I should just tell you that scrapbooking has been my passion for 7 years now, that I've been a Prima fan from the very beginning and that I feel very happy and honored that I'm going to be a part of that now!

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

My most creative time is late at night. I'm an evening person really, but because we have to get up early in the morning I'm usually in bed during my most creative time... So all the ideas come in bed, just before I fall asleep and I actually work them out during the day :)

Birgit can rock altered items like no one else. And they are very beautiful, very usable items...not just something to collect dust on a shelf. (And her curly hair is ADORABLE!)

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

Oh boy, that is a tough one! I am going to have to try and narrow it down to three.

I would have to say the Donna Downey canvas products, all things paper when it comes to Prima, and if I could choose to have one floral line right now it would be all the Cloissone flowers!

Ummmm, LOL, I wish that I had super powers. I have always wanted the ability to fly and shoot lightning! LOL!!!

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

The time that I am the most creative is at night in spite of the lack of natural sunlight. I think that it has something to do with being able to concentrate without being distracted by the little ones. It is me time at night.

Candice's work is fresh, funky and colorful. Her beautiful work will put a huge smile on your face! (Congrats on your brand new baby girl, Candice!)

I was in a really bad car accident my senior year of High School and my seatbelt saved my life. Make sure you buckle up!

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

At night, after my two year old goes to bed.

Gorgeous cards are Daniela's domain. She simply is a master at creating them, along with her other talents with layouts and tags. JUST wait until you see her projects on the blog! :)

I create the best when the kids are fast asleep in bed and it's blissfully silent :)

Jamie's artistic side often comes out on her layouts and projects. Be prepared for some FUN with this girl! She has a lot of talent waiting to come out on paper.

Flowers!! Of course!! Clear Stamps, just cant get enough of those and the papers- the latest release was so sensational.

I was run over by my Father as a child!  And I lived to tell the story.  It may explain a lot about me now though, or maybe I can use it as an excuse! I was around the age of 4 and my Dad was backing a large tandem trailer down our driveway.  He had taken several goes and my brother jumped off as he was bored.  I decided to do the same, but didn’t think it through as Dad was reversing at the time, and I slipped and fell. He didn’t see me and I went straight under the wheel.  My Mum saw it all and was screaming, so Dad stopped the car and ran out to see what the problem was, to discover the tire was directly on my chest so he had to get back in and drive off me.  I was unconscious and poor Dad thought he had killed me.  They rushed me to hospital and to everyone's shock, I didn’t even have a broken bone in my body!

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

When children are sleeping, or they are in childcare.  I try not to scrap when they are awake as that is time to spend it with them, but once they are asleep, the housework can wait and it is my time.

Janine has a brightly-colored, feminine style that is a show-stopper! She also has the most adorable kids and we love to see her scrapping her four boys with Prima products (and Miss Katelyn too.) Welcome back, Janine.

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

1. Patterned Paper - Prima has the most delicious patterned paper and
in so many different styles to fit so many different tastes!
2. Donna Downey Canvas Products - Blank canvas albums, bags, and
aprons to decorate to your heart's content.  What could be better?
3. Decorative Centers - Whether used to jazz up a flower or as their
own little embellishment I adore the rhinestones, studs, and pearls
that come in so many fantastic shapes and colors!

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

Right around 7pm all the way until 2 or 3am is my sweet spot!

Julie got a mega dose of artsy talent when she was born. Her stunning projects have graced our blog over the last year and we hope to see many more from her! (Julie also teaches LIVE classes for us!) So excited to see you on our team again, Julie!

Ingvild Bolme-Norway

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

Really hard to mention just 3, but here are at least 3 of my favorites; Prima roses (all of them), vines and felt DeVines/branches.

I live on a fantasy cloud and walk around and make huge plans about what to do and what to buy when I win the lottery. But my biggest problem is that I have not even bought a single coupon for at least the last 5 years...

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

It always used to be at night, but finally after "30 years" I get more tired in the evening, and actually scrap better during the day.

No one takes more time to complete a project than Miss Ingvild! You just have to see her projects to understand. Her shabby, feminine style is one-of-a-kind and we have been simply graced to have her back again! We are all prepared for another year of amazement, Ingvild.

Karola Witczak-Poland

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

I love every single flower by Prima brand. In my projects, I use a lot of flowers and Prima flowers accompany my scrapbooking almost from the beginning, from a very cheap, small flowers, to these wonderful big flowers, which I'm in love! Also I love the new paper lines - Shabby Chic and Strawberry Kisses simply steal my heart, this is style which I really love and I love working with such beautiful products.

Tell us something UNIQUE about you-it can be serious, funny or just plain silly.

Since most of my online life revolves around scrapbooking, many people don't know about me a few things that are obvious to me:) For example, the fact that I am dependent on coffee, drink plenty of it every day, also from House MD and jazz music. In addition to scrapbooking passion is music and watch plenty of movies in bulk, especially thrillers. I'm afraid of frogs, but I'm not afraid of bungee jumping. I'm full of contradictions, but I have a particularly large dose of romantic soul and shyness.

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

During the day, I have for myself a few hours only for scrapbooking, but not always in this time my mojo works. For several years, worked mostly at night, but now I love quiet evenings with my family, when everyone doing something else but we are still close together, talking, laughing, listening music and spend the time together. Then I have the best ideas and work quickly :)

Karola often uses a neutral backdrop so that her photos and embellishments literally pop off a page. We hope her special touches and sweet projects delight you as much as they do us!

I'm a night owl, so I'm definitely most creative during the night

When I'm stressed out, I turn on my computer and start shopping clothes for my girls online! Guilty.... indeed after a while, but can't help it :)

At night (when my girls are asleep.)

No one does multi-photo layouts like Miss Liana! Her layouts are very well constructed with all of those fun photos, papers and embellies on there.

The Wink range of papers - I love the subtle colours, I keep going back to them. The cameo roses - gorgeous colours and so versatile. The stamps!  I love making tags and the images are just perfect!

I breed, tag and release Monarch Butterflies as a hobby.  Each one has a unique code that is used to research where they overwinter.  Who knew...

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

The morning... when the kids are at school, my house is clean and my emails answered.

The roses (all varieties, but especially the Lilliput and white Alabaster roses), Say it in Crystals flourishes, and the Times Alphabet letters.

I love ice cream and have a small bowl of Dreyer's light ice cream every night. My freezer is completely stocked with my favorite flavors.

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

I feel the most creative at night after I’ve put my girls to bed and the house is quiet.  That’s when I can sit down at my scrap table and let the creative juices flow.

Stacy does the most creative things with paper and stitching and so many other skills! Watch throughout the next year as she amazes all of us with her many talents!

What are your favorite 3 Prima products?

I know this is a cliché, but it’s so hard to choose my favourite Prima products as I adore them all! I use a lot of flowers in my creations! Next would be Prima papers. Having such vibrant fun colours that mix and match make creating a LO so easy. And, of course, Prima bling. Oh so divine.

When I was a little girl I always dreamed of one day getting married and have twins. My dream came true in 2003 when my husband and I had Matt and Sarah. I still giggle at how things work out.

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

My most creative time is after dinner, when the kids are in bed and asleep. I love to relax in front of the TV and scrap til my heart is content. 

Trina has been a faithful Prima gallery submitter for a lonnnng time! Her stunning work is filled with gorgeous paper-cutting and an overall lovely design. We welcome her from the amazingly talented Down Under group!

I am celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary next week! I first met my hubby in preschool. It was NOT love at first sight, but he did grow on me. We now have seven amazing kids and a beautiful NEW granddaughter.

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

I tend to be the most creative at night when things slow down and the little kids are tucked in bed.

I'd write something REALLY nice about myself, but then you would find out that I do the blog and you'd think I REALLY like to brag!  :)

Every once in awhile you have a designer who is always there for you, one who is always producing gorgeous work and you just hate to see them go away after their term is up. Well, Prima has added a group for these designers who will be doing special assignments for us. Both of these gals have been with Prima for a few years and they are simply amazing. About me-I can't cook and talk on the phone at the same time or else food will get burned. I have terrible luck with cell phones. The last one has been missing for 5 weeks. I am a huge animal lover-especially dogs!

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

The best time to be creative is when I am inspired and that can be anytime of day! I have to get to work right away (or as soon as possible) and that's when I turn out some of my most favorite projects.

I can do a detailed scrapbook page in less than an hour, but it takes me hours to make a card and at the end of the day, I'm still not happy with my card.

When is your most creative time of the day or night?

The best time for me would be when my kids are already sleeping. That way I have no little hands grabbing my hand-cut patterned papers, one of them joyously throwing them up in the air, and the other one sticking them on her own little scrapbook.
