Who wouldn't want one of these Mini Clip It Ups?
CIU was so generous by partnering with us and offering to give one away on their blog! Check it out to see if YOU won!
What else can you do with one of these amazing units besides storing tons of product on it? How about using it to create a twirling "year-in-review" baby album? Once it is finished it will make a gorgeous keepsake piece of art filled with your baby's photos, precious journaling, favorite shoes and hats, and everything else that you need to keep from that amazing first year of life.Sharon Laakkonen first sprayed her mini CIU with indoor/outdoor Krylon paint in cream (cover the metal parts with tape or paper first.) After giving it a full 24 hours to dry she Glimmer Misted it with marshmallow for a touch of sparkle. Now comes the FUN part!
Take the black separators and cover them with a gorgeous Prima paper and add flowers and crystal number stickers to the top to set up each month's mini-layouts on the CIU. This simple step will add so much personalization to your unit.
Wrap a coordinating paper around the center pole with a strong adhesive. Tip: You could wrap a photo around the center for an extra sweet touch! Add a row of adorable Prima ribbon around the bottom.
Now you can start making your mini-layouts! Sharon wanted to make a full year's worth of pages so her daughter, Bethany, can just add photos and journaling for each month of her baby's first year. To do this: cut cardstock in to 6x6 squares and then used the same patterned paper on all of the layouts for a cohesive look. Use coordinating embellishments to keep the process simple. (You can squeeze a lot of pages in for each month if you like!)
Prima has soooo many products that work well on these mini-layouts! Attach lace with a Tiny Attacher for fast and easy results.
Use lace and a few flowers to pull it all together.
Our Say It In Pearls work so well on these small projects. Just snip them apart to make them go further.
Use one side of each layout for journaling and add photos to the other side.
Once you have all of your layouts hung up add some shoes to the bottom and a gorgeous baby hat to the top! This would make a WONDERFUL baby gift for an expectant mom! You could clip extra onesies, booties and hats on to the CIU as part of the gift.

Love a clean Look for your mini CIU? The talented Jaime Warren shows us how to turn a CIU into a stunning accessory in your scrap room.
Jaime is using her CIU to store her new white Innoscense flowers.
Jaime used paint as a base and then applied Ranger's Crackle Paint on top for a very cool, crackled effect!
Add paper to your center pole and then decorate the base with white Tea roses and a Holiday Lights sparkly bird!
Delicate Prima lace finishes off the base with a sweet touch.
We hope you have enjoyed the four Clip It Ups we have featured over the last two weeks! Be sure to get one and alter it with LOTS of Prima to fit YOUR room. Or make one for a gift!
the beauty of it all!!!
