Here we go again. 

After last year's success of Creative JumpStart Nathalie Kalbach decided to organize it again. (About 4,500 subscribers joined the Creative JumpStart in 2012. It was so much fun and so inspiring!)

So here's the scoop about it:

A month that for many is following lots of holiday celebrations, family gatherings and other end-of-the-year events. It’s also time to start creating again. But, suddenly, there it is for some of us: that lost feeling on how to start. Here is the cure!   :)

Nathalie invited a group of wonderful, inspiring, and creative ladies and gentlemen from around the globe in the mixed media and scrapbooking world to join together for the Creative Jump Start Summit 2013. We are coming together to show you some ways to get back into the creative groove and how to get your creative juices flowing. We want to share with you "3 Ways to ..." help you jump-start your creativity in 2013.

2013 Workshops with Jamie Dougherty

Come and join me in creating your own work of beauty art. In this class I will walk you through every step in designing your take on this mixed media project. You will be learning techniques like collaging, layering, painting, and using PanPastels to shade and color. You will get to construct your beautiful girl with Prima papers,embellishments, and of course flowers. Make this project your own. There is no need to have a drawing background to take the workshop, templates and easy to follow steps will be provided. 

You can be guaranteed you will learn how to get the most out your Prima product in my classes.

Layer It With Jamie Dougherty

Do you like adding layers to your pages? I know I do! I love adding different degrees of dimension to my pages and using everything from paper, packaging, and Prima embellishments I can achieve the look I'm after. 

You can create a reverse layer by creating cutouts into your background and pop up a layer of paper with 3D foam squares. Use your Prima packaging to add layers, you pay for your packaging why not get the most from it. Add chipboard, flowers, and wood all together to create textural contrast to your layout. 

A fun little tip...When using the felt vines, turn them over and use their adhesive backing to pour embossing powder and/or glitter to alter them in a unique way.

Layered Layout with Jamie Dougherty

Happy Monday everyone. Jamie here to share a scrapbook page using the Rosarian collection. I used different layers of mists, paper, and embellishments to compliment a dear family photo.

I started by taking a white piece of water color paper and centering one of Prima's new masks. I sprayed using mists in two similar colors. Then took a outline pen and traced around the edges of the mask. This gives a bold frame to set the rest of the page on. I used the new clear stamps to add another layer to the background. 

Next I used Tim Holtz Distress stain and splattered the blue in spots to help create a nice contrast against the red background. 

Using the Rosarian Collection I cut elements from the pages and used 3D foam squares to build the layers. Accenting the page with white flowers and one bold flower helped keep the design from becoming too bold.
