In this Prima Workshop with Nathalie Kalbach you will create a brick and stone yet romantic canvas using fun and unique Prima Materials. You will use different Media that work wonderfully with Prima. You will create texture and dimension making your canvas a visual eye candy for your home decor. You will learn several techniques; use spray paints and paints which you can use in future Scrapbooking and Mixed Media Projects. Some fun self-made Embellishments will top it off and you even have a choice of colors.

Join Nathalie in this Prima Mini-Album which combines Scrapbooking and Mixed Media into a fun record of your daily observations. Whether you want to record a trip to a foreign place or just an ordinary day there are for sure some fun things that you observed and that you want to preserve for the future. In this album we will work with beautiful Prima Marketing Products, Paint Media and Mixed Media Techniques to turn it into a wonderful record that everybody loves to take in their hands. Use the creative process to reminiscence in those wonderful moments, emotions and observations you had when you took your pictures. Let it not only be about be about the outcome of the class- let it be about your creative process also.

Instructions:

1. Cut a 4" strip off the left and right edges of the Hilary paper and swap them over so that the border is running in the middle. Cut a 6" strip from the middle of the Parlor Games paper and punch the long edges using a decorative punch. Adhere using double sided tape to recreate a 12" square page.
2. Use paint or a Tim Holtz distress stain (in picket fence) the Twiddleybitz Garden Flower Tower and Fancy Vine Frame. Adhere the Garden Flower Tower into place in the middle of the strip.
3. Cut the Fancy Vine Frame in half and adhere into place with one piece at the top right and one at the lower left of the tower.
4. Adhere your digital frames and photos into place, using foam tape to raise the frames up from the photos.
5. Adhere the resin window into place at the top of the tower.
6. Adhere the vine into place.
7. Colour the hearts and the Love word with the Glimmer Glam, finish with dimensional magic and adhere into place when dry.
8. Create a banner out of the middle cutoff strip of the Hilary paper, folding the edges for dimension. Adhere into place and attach the lettering.
9. Adhere the other flowers into place. Cut out some butterflies from the Miss Pretty paper, fold and shape the wings for dimension and adhere. Finish with the Prima crystals and some kindyglitz on the roses.

News and a new tutorial from Birgit!

Hi all, firstly my apologies for not updating our blog sooner, I have been travelling extensively and am currently over-seeing our amazing Educators tour in Australia and New Zealand.

Educator news: Our gorgeous girl Janine Koczwara has been allocated back to our fabulous Design Team, we will miss her on the Education Team but she is an amazing designer as you all know and I know that Sharon is happy to have her back after I 'stole' her!

The workshops in Australia and New Zealand have been awesome and the feedback is wonderful, we are now planning our Downunder tour for 2012, if you are a store owner and you are interested in being a host to one of these workshops, please email me at sherry@primamarktinginc.com to register for the information and the chance to participate.

There she is!

Hello everyone! Welcome on the Prima educator blog again!

Today I want to share a layout with you with stamps in the lead. I used foam stamps to create a background and fun flowers.

 

I used acrylic paint and Donna Downey's swirl foam stamp to create the background. After the paint dried I outlined the images with a black pen.

 

Then I stamped with the dotted flower foam stamp and acrylic paint on a variety of patterned papers. When using stamps with acrylic paint I always use my brayer to apply the paint to the stamp. In the first place it gives you an equally thick layer of paint on the whole stamp without having the paint going into the open spaces and it secondly it works fast so the acrylic paint doesn't dry before you have covered the whole stamp.

 

When the paint was dry I outlined the petals with a black pen and then cut them all out.

 

I used 5 petals and felt flowers to create my own new flowers.
