Janine Koczwara used this month's Build-a-Page as the base for her precious new baby photos! Using lots of sweet photos, accented by just a handful of well-chosen embellishments, really keeps the focus on her precious bundle of joy! (Accents include: Camelot Roses, Alabaster Flowers, Devine Felt Stems, Parlor Petals, Leaves.)

  Caroline Ikeji used our newest papers (Blooming Retro) on her sweet design! Adjusting the sketch to fit her photos, Caroline then added strips of patterned paper and bunches of brightly-colored flowers to add lots of perkiness!

Signs of Spring papers lend LOADS of sunshine to this fab layout by Anam Stubbington. Notice the cute frames on the focal photos and how they lead your eye across the page? Adding flower bouquets and a crystal swirl raises the adorable factor sky high!

Cool Tropics papers really give this layout a FAB BEACHY look when accented with Caboodle Flowers! Amy Parker added a FUN row of summer sequence shots in various sizes and orientation to mix things up a bit. Add an interesting design to your whole layout edge with a simple punch or with deco scissors.

Blooming Retro papers never looked so good until Julie Fei Fan Balzer got a hold of them! Julie loves to paint on her layouts by adding a touch of gesso and acrylic paint to the bottom of her papers...outlining the flower pattern with black pen as soon as the paint dried really makes them pop. Painting not only helps you match your papers to your photos, but it brings out your hidden artsy side too!

Ever wonder how to scrap those ultrasound photos? Sharon Laakkonen shows us a FUN way to include a bunch of them on your layout by placing them alongside a photo of the "mom & dad to be"! Scan in your ultrasound photos and then re-size the photos to about 2x2.5 each. Next-use lots of fun embellishments (Moulin Rouge flowers, Jewel Box leaves, collage flowers) on your Blooming Retro papers for a very LOVELY look.

  Joei Lau used the sketch as the inspiration behind a LAYOUT calendar for 2010! Using Stitched papers as the base, Joei then flipped the sketch to a vertical position so she could include a calendar for each month. Adding photos alongside the months really personalizes this project (and makes a FABULOUS idea for a gift!)

For those who love doing single pages, this sketch is easy to adapt! Christiane Muller created this gorgeous page using the sketch as a basic guideline...then added a few fancy edges on her Blooming Retro and Tropics papers! Perfectly placed Pebbles and some fab black crystal swirls finish the piece off with GREAT style!

It's here! Our latest sketch by our talented artist, Anam!

This sketch opens up LOTS of possibilities! Setting the stage for fabulous movement in the background is a large circle that frames the photo...while a few journaling spots are tucked in between a large title and a very creative swirled area. Flower accents finish off the layout with the perfect amount of texture.

Our design team not only had fun interpreting the sketch...but a lot of them decided to feature Prima's Tropics Paper line too. Tropics is filled with lots of fun colors to play with and it works well with a variety of themes....just take a peek at these beautiful projects!

"Aloha" by Joei Lau is simply precious! The Tropics line is a perfect fit with the Hawaiian theme. Adding a large white doily in the background really shows off the beautiful colors of the papers and flowers.

Food photos and the tropics line? YES! Caroline Ikeji effortlessly blends the two on her "Cha Cha Cha" layout. A fun sprinkling of bright flowers adds lots of movement to the design.

Tropics has a lot of orange and pink, but there are also soft greens mixed in. Christiane Muller focused on this softer palette for her "Gotcha" layout. Adding orange flowers and a touch of turquoise in accent papers, along with a tiny white doily, Christiane created the right amount of contrast.

Jo-Anne te Raa Chater twists the sketch to create this lovely altered hanger! Tropics paper provides a colorful backdrop while a large Baroque Bloom accessorizes the kitschy elements. Beautiful, unique and so easy to make!

Tropics paper and Christmas? Yes (again) as Malin Dahlstrom shows us how to mix the two on her beautiful design. The precious photo of Malin's daughter is surrounded with sparkling Prima stars, red Frillies flowers, green mulberry leaves and NEW Lustered Leaves in gold.

 

Julie Fei-Fan Balzer shows off some really cool things on her amazing layout! 1. Instead of using a circle Julie cut out a different shape for the background! 2. Julie used Photoshop to remove the color from the backdrop on her main photo...allowing it to really POP! A Fiesta Flower and crystal swirl add spunk and sparkle to this sweet design.

Janine Koczwara used a gorgeous assortment of Prima flowers to accent her layout! Prima Bittles, Parlor Petals, Butterfly Vine, Trellis Roses and Evelyn Lilies all make their way on to this beauty!

"2009" by Anam Stubbington is filled with luscious color from the Tropics line! The focus is on the beautiful summertime photo while Prima stars, canvas tabs, and Belle Fleur flower add depth, sparkle and texture to the gorgeous design.

"Oh, So, Girly!"  Prima products work so well for all kinds of layout, but this one by Iris Babao-Uy makes no excuse for having lots of feminine touches! New Evelyn Baby Lilies are highlighted, along with a Painted Lady flower and a Say It In Crystal swirl (which Iris cut in half to create a heart shape).

Ingvild Bolme also used the soft shades of Tropics to create this heart-stopping layout! Ingvild tore a layered circle backdrop to add a vintage-shabby chic look. Pink pearls and pearled butterflies add a touch of fancy to the stunning design.

Our design team had LOTS of fun with this month's sketch...let's see how they used it!

 

Oddbjorg Ringsby used this sketch to do a "Family 09" layout...she clustered all of the squares together to leave a pleasing white space on her design. Oddbjorg used four photos, 7 paper squares (great way to use up those paper scraps), and used the rest for embellishment areas! Each square is separated by amazing stitching for that personal touch. GORGEOUS! Paper: # 812720, # 812744, #812706, # 812713, # 812799; Flowers: # 529758; Say it in Crystals: # 713584, # 523084, # 517304; Butterfly: # 528355; Alphas: # 517830

Jo-Anne te Raa Chater used this month's Build-A-Page with absolutely ZERO photos, but with lots of her thoughts. Not only is her layout design beautiful, but it also reflective. Jo-Anne used a cluster of different papers (including Prima packaging, chipboard and transparencies); machine stitching to pull it all together; and a few polka-dotted flowers (Evelyn-532673) to add some spunk to the design! 

What could be more perfect than a Back-to-School layout using this amazing sketch? Christiane Muller shares three close-up photos of her son working on his school, while keeping the boundaries open on most the other squares. A stamped title area is creatively made with Prima's alphabet stamp...while one single trellis Rose (533120) adds a playful touch. Journaling: "Back to school in August: this means homework under roses in our backyard!"

Can our sketch be used for altered projects too? YES! Iris Babao-Uy used the BAP as a base for her amazing altered canvas! Following the sketch loosely, Iris added framed photos of their lovely family, a beautifully-done title and a myriad of gorgeous embellishments to create a stunning showpiece. Topping off the design is a brand new Gypsy Petal flower (531614)!

You know all of those phone pictures that you take that you never do anything with? Well, Julie Fei-Fan Balzer has come up with the PERFECT way to display them! Because the phone photos are usually low resolution they work really well in these small squares! Julie added lots of Prima Dandies and Daisies...along with a title on TOP of each photo to remember what each one was about! Why not print out a few of your phone pics and try this sketch.

Anam Stubbington used her own sketch to create this very colorful, very FUN layout showcasing their family fish, Goldie! Anam kept the layout perfectly square with centered squares of Mommy and Me papers (870263, 881320, 820909) for a very clean effect. Dual Lollipop flowers (524821) add lots of punch to the design while providing perfect balance!

 

Janine Koczwara used a cluster of her favorite papers (Morning Song), along with lots of stamping on this design (CRenee and Build-a-Frame). Take a peek at the little windows she created for a few of the squares...while adding photos of her beautiful daughter, at various ages, for others. LOTS of lovely Prima flowers finish off the layout with a perfect feminine touch.

 

Tracie Hudson finishes off our DT samples with this AMAZINGLY gorgeous layout celebrating LOVE! Cutie Catcher papers (601928) provide a perfect backdrop to the Collage mulberry papers, wedding photos and Collage Flowers. A few Say It In Pearl swirls add the finishing touches to this lovely layout!

Christiane Muller flips the sketch around to fit her three, adorable photos! Adding the title underneath the pictures, and inserting turquoise Prima packaging really adds punch to the layout. Christiane added one of Prima's Furry Friends for a playful touch, along with NEW Animal Bash papers!

Tip: Use left-over packaging to mat your title and photos.

Janine Koczwara uses lots of bold color on this striking design! After flipping the design horizontally, Janine added black felt Voila to contrast the bright-colored flowers perfectly. Instead of layering squares of paper, Janine layered circles then added lots of Prima felt letters for extra punch! 

Tip: Frame the center photo for an extra special touch.

 

Anam Stubbington included lots and lots of paper layering (and fantastic stitching to emphasize the layers)...under one fabulous photo! A Prima canvas house really brings the family theme to life with a new Prima branch and flowers sprayed beautifully over the top.

Sharon Laakkonen followed the sketch closely by stacking three photos vertically, surrounding them with a cascading collage of gorgeous NEW Prima flowers, leaves, lace and pearls! The title is perfectly placed on the newly-released Paradise City papers.

Tip: Cut a new Say It In Pearl corner apart for a unique pearl swirl!

 

Oddbjorg Ringsby also used three vertically stacked photos, (this sketch is perfect for a sequence of shots), along with layers of torn paper, and a gorgeous Prima Felt Devine! Hand-stitched Primrose flowers add a homespun touch to this very sweet design.

June's BAP Winner is.....

June's Sketch had all the components for a very FUN interpretation...with two photos, a large title and that very FUN wave at the bottom!

Our readers went ALL out with so many AMAZING entries! We saw everything from waves done with flowers...ribbons...torn paper...to Voila felt used to create that swirled wave....a few others used pearl swirls! Now how fun is that? Your interpretations were so inspiring!

July's Build- A- Page is HERE!

 

July is a month filled with hot summer days, trips to the beach, sizzling barbecues, family vacations and lots of fireworks! This sketch is perfect to showcase some of those AMAZING photos that you snapped!

Sketch Artist, Anam, added lots of strips of paper in the background...a row of embellishments to draw your eye across the page...and a large title area that is perfectly situated on the page. There is also a WONDERFUL spot for journaling about the event!

We have some lovely layouts to show you based on this month's sketch! As always our Design Team put their own personal spin on their creations showing how very versatile this sketch is!

 

Anam Stubbington uses Prima's burlap fabric swatches in place of paper strips on the adorable layout! Adding strips of ribbon help balance the design, while adding lots of fun texture. Four pink Prima Dandies anchor that CUTE photo and provide a touch of femininity to the whole layout!

Christiane Muller uses lots of pretty polka-dots to add an element of fun to this gorgeous layout! Adding a collage of layered flowers really makes the beautiful photo stand out, while Prima's Angel Wings add a delightful angelic touch that really plays off the title well.

Amy Parker took a simpler route with the sketch...using stamps and ink to create the design on her background...and adding a few strips of patterned paper for contrast. Simply beautiful.

Julie Fei-Fan Balzer created this artistic interpretation of the Build-A-Page sketch! Using a variety of colored papers for the backdrop, Julie then added a cluster of customized flowers to bring lots of fun texture to the layout.

 

Iris Babao Uy created a soft and sweet layout about her precious baby! Using lots of stamping and soft elements, Iris lets the focus stay on her adorable photo. A felt Voila strip is perfect for adding some warmth to the layout, while Prima flowers add a necessary feminine touch!

Joei Lau used this month's sketch to create this floral-filled design! Joei switched the orientation of the elements to a vertical position to compliment the photos better. Adding layered flowers, Prima chipboard and Voila felt really add lots of gorgeous dimension to the page.

 

Janine Koczwara also created a gorgeously feminine design about her daughter. Janine punched butterfly shapes out and then used them as a mask with Glimmer Mist for a colorful and sparkly background effect. A stamped border brings definition to the layout, while a cluster of roses add color and beautify the whole design!

Sharon Laakkonen replaced the paper strips with luscious strips of Prima's lace on her layout! Adding flocked paper and a canvas tag really adds so much visual texture to this "Graduation" design. Hand-write your journaling right on the layout for a very personal touch.
