Easy To Be Green Reminder!

Box_largePrima's "Easy To Be Green" contest is underway, but there is still plenty of time to dig out your Prima containers and re-purpose them! Here is a direct link to the contest rules: Easy To Be Green Contest Details

Here is an example from our very own Design Team member, Iris Babao-Uy. Iris took a wooden box from the Naturally Flower collection (507336) and altered it to create this gorgeous keepsake box. A few well-chosen Prima embellishments (Elysee lace, Voila felt, Say It In Crystals, Painterly Petals flowers and Renaissance flowers) can turn any container into a work of art!

Hopefully, Iris' beautiful box will inspire you to enter the contest and win BIG!

Easy To Be Green Reminder!

As Prima gets this second contest rolling, let's share another "Easy To Be Green" project with you! Again-you can use any Prima packaging for this contest! Let your imagination go wild!
.......................................................................................................................................
Wedding_keepsake_tin_large This versatile Prima tin can house a variety of treasures. Sharon Laakkonen created it especially for her  daughter to hold special weddings treasures in! The tin's clear top allowed Sharon to use Urban Cosmos rub-ons (870126) right on top adding a very cool, sheer appearance, while Say It In Crystals (517380) add reflective sparkle. The layered flower (Minnie Me and Belle Fleur) offers a beautiful focal point and text-filled Artful leaves (523862) add a whimsical touch. A simple scalloped-punched, layered strip of Cavalier (810368) and Urban Cosmos papers (870102) and Tea & Silk ribbon (810214) around the side adds a hint of romance.

Prima Flower Girl, Cari Fennell, created this amazing night light out of a Essentials 3 container that she painted! She hand cut the Tea & Silk paper and inserted that inside the box, along with an LED light. A bit of Voila felt, an IOD chipboard butterfly and a bit of Prima ribbon was added on the outside. Is this creative or what?

Janien_wahl_boyslifebigflowerblog
Flower Girl, Janine Wahl, was inspired by the Prima brad package she received. Janine used the package as a template and traced it onto chipboard and plastic! That isn't all she re-used though! She also took the backing from a Felt Mattie and used it as a mask (see pic 4). She simply laid it on the back of a journaling card and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. How cool is that?

Save The Date!

Here's just one more fun project reusing a Prima container!
......................................................................................................................................
Save_the_date_by_sharon_large_2 This cute little Prima tin (from a Maxie Can 513009) comes with a magnet on the back so you can easily transform it into something magnificent for your fridge! Sharon Laakkonen printed a photo (with the date & title added in Adobe) about 2.75 inches square. She trimmed it to fit inside the lid and then adhered it. After putting the lid back on the tin bottom ,she added a few embellishments (523688) to make this "Save The Date" reminder one of a kind! What a great idea for parents and grandparents! Simply swap the photo (and text) out to change this project to fit a ton of different themes! A Pixie Tin would work well for this type of project as well (516512). Just adjust your photo size to fit the opening.  Photo by Ann Galliers

~keep them in your bathroom and keep all your little items in them-hair twisties, bobby pins, Q-tips, etc.

~display your son's marble collection...or bug collection!

A Very Cool Packaging Idea!

Peaceful_by_cariFlower Girl, Cari Fennell, took a package from Prima's Clear Stamps Sets by Christina Renee (850050) and altered it to create this very cool project!

Prima's stamp package has a clear cut-out that Cari used to stamp her title on twice! She stamped with black ink inside the package; then embossed it with gold embossing powder (on the blue paper). Next Cari stamped with black solvent ink right on the clear plastic area to create a shadow-effect for her title.

After creating the background part of the layout inside the package, Cari then added the embellishments on the outside of the package. What an amazing layout...and a great Go Green project! See the little stamp at the bottom of the package? This packaging was designed by Prima to be reused as part of our Go Green endeavors. What cool ideas can you come up with for using this package?

Items used:
Stamp Set package: 850050
Elysee gold ribbon: 519520
Elysee dark brown ribbon: 519520

Harmony blue paper: 860080
