Our NEW Finnabair Art Recipe for September includes a wonderful mixture of sparkling Mica Powders + Black Gesso + Gold and/or Copper Crackle Texture Pastes! All of these products are absolutely amazing by themselves, but adding them together creates something even more special. With Black Gesso for contrast, Mica Powder for luminescence, and Crackle Paste for rocking texture, you just know these projects are going to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
"I am so pleased to present a new layout of mine created for this month's Art Recipe! I have to admit, I found it really inspiring. As soon as I heard which products we'll play with this month, I felt really excited, and the reason is simple - I love black! :) I also love creating contrast in my work. Putting together Mica Powders and Black Gesso is a perfect way to achieve the effect I had in mind. I created a layout called «Ahead». It's made for the very special girl in the photo. I hope I managed to capture my friend's sparkly personality. :)" ~ Irina Honcharyk
"You can see in the photos how amazing it is to use Black Gesso as your background. Mica Powders 'illuminate' it so the work doesn't look too gloomy, quite the opposite I think. ;)"

"I always enjoy working on a black background - Black Gesso is my best friend! I used it to paint the whole page and added Gold Crackle Paste with the Honeycomb Stencil to add more texture. I used the Blue-Gold Opal Magic Acrylic Paint to paint a few spots here and there and made splashes with Heavy White Gesso." ~ Athanasia Papantoniou
"To embellish my page, I used a piece from the Vintage Center Mechanicals and some Mini Roman Numerals. I also created my own embellishment circles with a stamp from the Cling Stamps Set - Tea on the Deck, vellum paper, and black embossing powder."
"As the center piece, I used a black feather which I painted with my favorite colors of Mica Powders. I sprayed some water on the feather and applied the powders with a paintbrush. As a final touch, I spread Gold Leaf and Frosted Mica Flakes all over the cluster. I used the 3D Gloss Gel to attach them."

"Earth tones, rusty objects, and natural additions – they also need to shine sometimes. So this time I tried to break a palette, that seemed a bit restrained, by using a pinch of glamour. :)" ~ Olga Siedlecka
"I started with forming the literal heart of the composition by gluing together a foam heart with a vintage metal ash tray. A handful of Art Stones and Mini Art Stones turned out to be a perfect addition and structure builder. Then I covered a canvas panel with a quite thick, and uneven, coat of Copper Crackle Paste. I decided to put the heart center piece, which had been previously painted black, in the middle of the panel. To add more interest, I surrounded the ash tray with dry grass and glued down Mechanicals Hardware parts in all corners."
"When everything was fixed, well, then came the best part of the creation! I covered the grass, the focal element, and the panel with brass and blue brush strokes of Art Alchemy acrylic paints. And while the paint was still sticky, I covered them with Mica Powders, using a light hand. I started with more dense colors and finished with the more translucent ones. They really make your project sparkle!" Visit Olga's blog here!
