Today's Frugal Friday project is a beautiful layout created by our very own Adrienne Ford! (She even give us extra tips on how to stretch our scrapbooking supplies.)
"I love being frugal while crafting. I will admit I like creating without any limits in cost, but the reality is, most of the time as a crafter, you improvise and make due with what you have. I have a stash of go-to items that work as a cushion along the way- textured fabrics and threads, found items (bottle caps etc), stencils, and stamps, most of which I can use again and again.
"Some other tips of things I do to save money and make my stash go farther is to cut or break things in half. As you can see on this layout, I cut my Ascot flower in half. I have done this because sometimes, when layering flowers, half of a flower gets lost under a cluster (as you can see in my large cluster). When cutting it in half, you are using ALL your flower and spreading the flower's love all over your layout like I did here- I used my other half to make a second cluster in the top left hand corner."
"Obviously you should use discretion when cutting up flowers. Stamens and other factors come into play- so be sure to size up the flower before grabbing for those scissors! Other ideas of things you can break/ cut apart, Resins, leaves, chipboard, wood icons etc. The possibilities are endless!" ~Adrienne
