Playing with the sweet doll stamps and pretty papers brings back memories of hours of creative play as little girls for many of us. Who didn't love dressing up their dolls, with tabbed paper clothes, nonetheless? Well, we have taken the same fun concept, but Prima-fied it!
Julie Nutting's paper doll stamps have been a HUGE hit! How many of you have jumped on board with the paper doll fever?
The new line will include gorgeous Prima doll stamps that can be used over and over for endless customization ideas. And there is a doll style for everyone! Julie also included a set of angelic wings and whimsical border stamps this time. You can also cut out other accessories with her new stencil and A4 paper pad.

How old were you when you cut out your first paper doll?
I was really young. So young that I remember my mom cutting them out for me. I played with them throughout elementary school. I had paper dolls of all the popular TV shows at the time: That Girl, Bewitched, Beverly Hillbillies (Ellie May, of course) as well as popular stars like Annette Funicello and Haley Mills.
How did the doll stamp idea come to you?
I was creating mixed media canvases, cards and tags with my "girls" for quite a while when Prima approached me with the idea. I had wanted a stamp line all along, so this was a dream come true.
Do you have a tip or two for using the stamps?
know you can stamp the doll and then alter the hair style? I love doing
this by trimming off some hair at the sides and then adding a bun or
ponytail before cutting out. It's actually pretty amazing some of the
things you can do with one stamp if you just sit down and experiment.
Tell us about a favorite project using one of your doll stamps.
I am in the process of redoing an old desk from my childhood. I
repainted the entire piece and then covered all the drawers with paper
and yes, the new Olive stamp appeared on one of the drawers. I hope to
have a picture by the end of the week. I love the way it's coming out.
When you are creating with your stamps what music do you listen to?
I listen to all sorts of music from Inspirational, to current pop, to oldies, to old French music from the 50's.
Where can we see your other doll creations?
I have been lucky enough to have my dolls in such great publications as Cloth, Paper, Scissors and the Stampington family of publications. Of course they are in my book Collage Couture, by North Light Books. I am currently working on my second book with North Light due out next June. The name has not been set in stone yet.
