AnnaMarie Mondro and Prima!

Today we are so excited to introduce AnnaMarie Mondro, from the US, to you! AnnaMarie's layouts are fun and fresh, and often have adorable whimsical touches to them. So...come on and meet AnnaMarie!

SO excited to share my first post here on the Prima blog! :)

My name is AnnaMarie (yes, one word with a capital M, no middle name!) Mondro, and I live in the small town of Pinckney, Michigan. I’ve been happily married to my husband (and biggest supporter of my scrappy hobby!) John for 19 years (!), and we have four beautiful, wonderful kidlets: Abigail – 9.5 y.o., Sophie – 8 y.o., Lucas – 5 y.o., and Joshua – 18 months, as well as a crazy little Sheltie of 8 years, Zoe.  I am a busy (and happy!) stay-at-home Momma, and my other interests include running, photography, gardening, reading (HUGEST book lover ever!!), listening to music, and playing on my iPhone (a very addicting guilty pleasure!

Some facts about me:

• I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (which comes in VERY handy with 4 kids. ;))
• I used to train and show my dogs in competition obedience, as well as teach competition obedience classes to novice students.
• Like Finn, my fellow DT member, I am an AVID drinker of tea. NO coffee, just tea. Red Rose to be specific. I have to start my day off with a cup, and end it the same way.
• I am NOT a morning person. At all. :-P The bulk of my scrapping (and reading and cleaning and so on!) takes place in the wee hours when little hands and bodies are tucked in their beds for the night!
• I’m half Thai, but am not a fan of Thai food. :-P
• I have a fear of flying.
• Target store junkie. Oh MY.
• Yes I am a GLEEK – big-time Glee fan. LOVE!

As to how I got started in scrapbooking, I had a close friend who was a scrapper and she was always trying to get me interested in it, but it wasn’t until after the birth of my second daughter that I became more interested in the idea of preserving memories on paper as opposed to simply filing away pictures into a photo album. I signed up with my friend for a couple classes at the LSS and quickly fell in love with patterned paper and embellishments…the rest is history!

My style: I love color and texture and dimensionality and details  - and especially love to play with layers and bits and pieces! I am inspired by photos of my children, colors and seasons, and all things pretty. :) I am also a border punch junkie – LOVE my border punches and will find any excuse to use them on a layout!

Now...onto a couple layouts I created for Prima's CHA Summer booth! :) As soon as I saw the Romantique paper line, I was in LOVE! I knew the happy and sweet colors would complement well these photos of my daughters sharing a sweet moment of their own.

And...although I tend to normally scrap bright colors, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful neutral palette of the Printery collection. I just loved using the creams and blacks of the papers and adorning it with punches of soft color throughout my Sophie page. :)
