 Halloween Tag & Holder

Daniela Dobson created this tag and holder using a ton of her Prima scraps and a recycled tiny paper bag!

Tips:

You don't have to use Halloween themed paper to make Halloween projects. Daniela used Paisley Road papers that had the Halloween colors she was looking for. She die-cut a 1 1/2 inch circle for the moon and drew the bat by hand. The felt DeVine stem added to the Halloween theme.

Green Concepts Halloween Votive

Halloween is the perfect time to GO Green like Julie Fei-Fan Balzer did on this amazing Votive Holder using Prima's clear packaging and a few other sweet products.

Tips: Use an exacto to carve your jack-o-lantern from the packaging for a spooky effect. Add a touch of orange paint for contrast on the backdrop.

Tape the sides of the packaging together with Washi tape for an embellished look.

Nic Howard shows how a well-designed banner can add so much style to a baby card!  Cut simple triangles, pop them up off the card with foam squares and add liquid pearl dots to tie them all together.

Want a soft edge on your banner? Nic uses chalk instead of ink to give a delicate shadow. Apply with a cotton ball or sponge for best results.

Designer Day: Come Meet Alyssa McGrew

Hi!  My name is Alyssa McGrew, and I am so excited to have this opportunity to tell you more about myself and my personal quirks.  

For starters, I am a stay-at-home mom living in central Indiana.  Prior to having children I worked for AIG and enjoyed the corporate world very much, so this has been a big change for me.  I have found,  however, that I really enjoy being at home and spending the days watching my children grow and learn.  

My oldest, Milena, is in Kindergarten and is homeschooled; and my youngest, Elijah, is in preschool. They keep life busy, and give me many moments to scrapbook.  Without them, I would have to search much harder for great photos and layout inspiration!

Capturing Fall Journal

This fall is an interesting time in our lives, with school starting, our family launching 2 new small businesses, and our youngest moving fully from the "baby" stage to the "kid" stage.  I am dreaming of leaving the diaper bag at home permanently and moving into a new stage in life.  I created this altered notebook as an art journal/photo record/scrapbook about this fall season and what it means to our family.  So far the inside is empty, but I am taking the photos and planning the pages as we speak!

Growing Up and Changing Layout

Visiting Family Layout

This layout is about the first trip we took in my new car (yes, it is GOLD!)  We went to see Grandma and Grandpa and attend a family reunion.  While we were waiting for my husband to purchase the necessary travel beverages (we are a family of beverage lovers... all of us have a drink in hand most of the day), I snapped a few photos of the car and the kids.  The Road Trip Collection was perfect for these photos.

I Create Art Mini

My final project to share with you is all about a subject near and dear to me (and probably you as well): Art!  Growing up I did poorly in art class, and didn't feel I had a creative bone in my body.  Scrapbooking has been the activity that took me totally by surprise and has given me an artistic outlet that I never expected to have.
