When we held our TEEN contest over the summer we promised a Guest Designer spot to our first place winner...well, after counting all of the cotes that came in we had ourselves a fabulous winner:
Miss Charlot Van Parijs from Belgium!
Charlot is our very first teen designer, ever, and we are really excited to introduce her to all of you! Charlot is just 17 years old and is looking into cosmetology as a career.
1. How long have you been scrapbooking and how did you get started?
I discovered scrapbooking in the craft store of my aunt when I was just 10 years old and I’ve been hooked since then. Like most of scrapbookers I started with cardmaking when I was just a little girl, I was always creative since I was a child. Now, several years later, I became a scrapbook designer for the craft store and I really love it!!
2. From where do you draw inspiration?
I draw my most inspiration from my own photos, but I also draw inspiration from everywhere: blogs, magazines, and the craft store.
3. Describe your style for us.
My style is just traditional. I love to use inks and I often doodle on my pages. Most of the time I work with bright colors. I also find it cool to learn new techniques and use them in my work.
4. How do you go about designing a page?
I need time to consider me how I would use everything. I tend to use products from the same line for most of my layouts. Then I will search for a good picture which looks good with the paper. I frequently do this on the bus (I sit 2 hours a day on the bus) or I search on the Internet and consider a composition by gaining inspiration.
5. In general, how long does it take you to do a page?
Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 hours till I start a page, I usually start a layout and end it a couple days later.
6. What is your favorite Prima product?
I have a lot of Prima stuff that I love, I absolutely love all Prima flowers!! I also like your pattern papers and clear stamps.
7. What are 3 other products that you can't live without?
If I really have to choose, than I can’t live without flowers, alphabet stickers and the Prima patterned papers.
8. Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?
I would like to thank Prima and everyone who voted for my layout in the Teen Contest for this great opportunity. If you like to see more of what I create than you must take time and visit my blog: http://nutsaboutscrapbooking.blogspot.com/
