Designer Iris Babao-Uy showcases a GORGEOUS Prima canvas album that she recently completed! Not only is the canvas fun to play with, but it works with ANY color scheme or theme!
Iris has a few tips for working with the canvas:
1. "I realized that priming the canvas with gesso makes for a better work surface for applying acrylic paint. You can thin the gesso with a little water and that makes the application very easy. Leave it to dry overnight. If you wet one side of the canvass with water or paint, make sure to wet the other side also cause the canvas shrinks a little once dry."
2 "I did a lot of stamping. Use bright colors for the ink. If you have very fine patterns the details will not show very well because of the texture of the canvas. But if you prime it with gesso, the print shows better."
3. "The tags were so fun to use. I do not have pretty hand-writing so I folded the tag and tied it with a ribbon so that my journaling could be hidden. By doing that the tag becomes smaller and easier to place within the page without occupying too much space."
Just look at all of the fun techniques Iris used on her pages! These album are perfect for true customizing to fit YOUR style!
Isn't that absolutely adorable!
This shot of the stamping detail is just gorgeous! Try using bold colors when stamping for a very cool effect!
We hope you have enjoyed Iris' handy-work! She just shows how much fun and how easy it is to work with our Donna Downey line of canvas and fabric products!
