Melinda Staley came up with this ingenious idea of using digital with traditional ON CANVAS! Let's look at how she pulled it off:
"I printed pieces of the Melody paper set onto
Ink-jet T-Shirt transfer paper and then ironed them onto 8x8 art canvases. The
canvases can be difficult to get smooth transfers onto, but this helps give the
project some unique textures.
Some tips: Use a hot iron and lots of
pressure. Let the paper cool before you try to peel it away. Remove the
paper slowly and look for spots that are not sticking- apply the iron again to
the spot and then use a burnishing tool (such as a Popsicle stick!) to help
get them to stick a little better. Once the canvas has cooled completely, you
can embellish them."
Melinda used the GORGEOUS Melody papers by Valerie Foster for Prima for the iron-on design!
Once the images are ironed-on to the canvas, feel free to embellish with lots of Prima pretties!
