Come meet our latest Guest Designer!
Caroline Ikeji comes all the way from California! She has a fun, hip style that we find absolutely wonderful! Let's get to know her a little bit better!
1. When did you start scrapbooking and how did you get started? I completed my first scrapbook in eighth grade as homework for a school trip to Washington, D.C., but I didn't become hooked until early 2005. My mom bought me one of those huge paper stacks, and I was determined to use it up. I started surfing scrapbooking sites online for ideas, eventually found 2 Peas, and the rest is history.
2. From where do you draw inspiration? Anything and everything from fashion, nature, print media, other scrapbookers, product, etc.
3. Describe your style for us. Whimsy, funky, and colorful. I love layering and mixing up different types of elements.
4. How do you go about designing a page? It totally depends on the page - most of the times I'll start with a photo or story, but sometimes I'll be inspired to create a page because of a cool new product I'm dying to use. Sometimes I create a page and decide what it's about later. Sometimes I'll start with the journaling. It just depends.
5. In general, how long does it take you to do a page? Anywhere between 30 minutes and two hours. If I'm not done in two hours, it means that I'm just not feeling it.
6. What is your favorite Prima product? The flowers of course!!! I love that there are so many varieties!!
7. What are 3 other products that you can't live without? Patterned papers, letter stickers, and chipboard.
8. What is/was one of your favorite scrapbook trends/fads? Hmm....using lots of paint? I'm not a very "trendy" scrapbooker, lol.
9. Is there anything else you'd like to share with us? Thanks for asking me, Sharon! :)

Caroline's layout, Expecting, is a perfect mix of papers from the Rue 88 collection (602048). A delightful mix of Prima flowers (Loft 18 felt-520076 and Essentials 3-517267 and the cutest polka dot flower-700584) add the perfect finishing touches!
..........................................................................................................................................
IOD filmstrip tape (811006) set the stage for funky on this whimsical layout! Caroline mixes a turquoise Prima Pasties (517762) with an eclectic mix of Rue 88 papers. A lovely length of Elysee ribbon (519810) adds a touch of femininity, while a spray of Say it In Crystals (517373) add sparkle!
.............................................................................................................................................
Isn't this the most adorable design ever? Caroline started with a lovely Caliope (502192) paper and then adds a fresh array of Sprites and Belle Fleur (524043) flowers! A strip of Reverie (602246) adds a hint of contrast while letting the precious photo take center stage.
Thank you, Caroline, for guest designing for us! Your work is delightful!
