Prima's Latest Guest Designer...

...all the way from eastern France is...Cynthia DuMont!

1.When did you start
 scrapbooking and how 
did you get started? 
I first found out about 
scrapbooking in August, 
2004 while in a book
store. I was immedi-
ately drawn to it
because I’ve always
liked adding a little
story to my pictures.

It truly clicked when my father suddenly passed away in the Spring of 2005 : I realized how imperative it is for me to leave memories of my loved ones to my children so they know how important they are and what my feelings are toward them. 

2. From where do you draw inspiration?
I love photography… I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures of anything and everything and my photos are what first guide my choices. I draw my inspiration from everything around me: ads, magazines, clothes… 

3. Describe your style for us.
I am more of the Shabby Chic and Vintage styles because I love flowers, buttons, textures and the shabby effect ribbons have. What I like the most on a page is volume and texture. I do not, however, like to limit myself to this one style and enjoy exploring more simple and colorful styles… I’m always willing to explore !!! 

4. How do you go about designing a page?
It all begins with the picture I’ve chosen. Sometimes, when there are specific papers I want to use, I pick the paper first. I don’t work with sketches…sometimes I prefer to let my feelings lead my pages (according to the embellishments I pick.) I’ll place some on a page, remove them, replace them, until I find the right combination. 

5. In general, how long does it take you to do a page?
In average, 2 to 3 hours per page. Some pages come in very easily… each embellishment finds its place, whereas others are more challenging… it has to click !!! I can spend the whole night working on a project. 

6. What is your favorite Prima product?
It might not sound original, but FLOWERS are my favorite !!! I love them all, I always have to have them on a page… flowers of all shapes, colors and textures…I find they bring softness and freshness to my pages ! I also love the latest collections with coordinating papers and chipboard, not to mention bling and stamps. 

7. What are the 3 others products that you can’t live with out?
I love everything that’s shiny, flashy and catches the eye ; so I love glitter, gloss, crystals and all sorts of shiny embellishments. I enjoy adding different kinds of alphabets and chipboard to my pages; they add volume and movement. I also love the classy and chic effect ribbon has. I enjoy tying ribbon to my pages, just like beautiful presents waiting to be opened... 

8. What is/was your favorite else you’d favorite scrapbook trends/fads?
I like making mini albums or small projects ; that enables me to give life to a specific moment in time, whereas making a single page will let me convey feelings.

9. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I live in Eastern France , I have 2 children : Margaux  (8 years) and Axel (5 years) and an adorable husband for 17 years…so my life is GREAT !!!

Wouldn't you love to receive this card in the mail? There are so many beautiful little touches...the Say It In Crystals frame and swirl...the cluster of Christmas Bubble flowers...and...the Prima Stamp that Cynthia colored in--Poste Francaise! It makes the card simply exquisite! ...................................................................................................................................

Do you like glamour? This card is filled with it! By brushing on a bit of Glossy Accents and Perfect Pearls Cynthia has taken these Prima flowers to the next level! The touch of purple Elysee ribbon ties the whole card together!

Rendez-vous is a splendid example of how to use flowers on a more masculine looking layout. Cynthia used Rue 88 papers, chipboard, coordinating flowers (Essentials 3) and IOD rub-ons.
