...Virginie Genois from Metz, France!!! Virginie has such an exquisite, artsy style! We are very happy to have a few samples of her work to showcase for you! 1. When did you start
scrapbooking and how did you get started? I started scrapbooking when my daughter, Carla, was born
in December, 2004. Scrapbooking was so appealing to me: it was love at first
sight... it has become an artistic drug. People tend to forget about their pictures, stored on DVD
or in a photo album. Scrapbooking allows me to give my pictures a new life and
to talk about them. I get many ideas from blogs and magazines, but
also from walking around and seeing ads (children's clothing ads are
particularly full of original ideas). If I look at a picture of my daughter,
ideas and combinations just fill up my mind. I like to utilize flowers, fabric and various materials.
I would describe my style as shabby chic or vintage. I like my pages to include
3-D elements and layers of paper for thickness. Being able to feel the pages is
as important as being able to see them. I never draw sketches; I pick the paper and
embellishments according to the picture, that’s how I get inspired. 5. In general, how long does it
take you to do a page? As soon as I know what I want to create, it takes me
approximately 2 hours to do a page. Creating a mini album, however, can take up
to 30 hours. I absolutely love your flowers. I always look forward to
the new releases, I always have to have them… the latest collection of papers
“Coquette”, coordinating chipboard and alphabet is wonderful – a real
treat. 7. What are 3 other products that you can't live
without? I can’t live without “Glossy”, I use it on everything… I
just can’t help it. I like to add dimension and sparks to your flowers by
glazing a flower (paper, as well as fabric), and adding glitter, bling or beads
to the glaze, at the tip of the petals. I like to wrinkle paper and apply
varnish to get a shiny cardstock effect. I also love “Distress” ink and “Perfect Pearls”. I am French and live in Eastern France . I don’t speak a
word of English, which is a shame because I don’t understand much of what is
written on your blog... Fortunately, the beauty of scrapbooking is
universal. I would love to visit the US and to see one of their
scrapbooking stores, which are said to be
gigantic. I would also like to thank you for inviting me as a guest
prima designer, I am very happy. My blog :

Ahhh...just look at the ornateness of Virginie's work! She can take a few Prima flowers and turn them into tiny little treasures by adding Glossy Accents or other mediums!
Here is a close-up of the gorgeous card. Virginie used Christmas Bubble flowers and leaves with a few Say It In Crystals amber swirls. Wouldn't you love to receive this card in the mail?
This altered jar is absolutely divine! Take a peek at the golden cherub on the front and the Prima flowers adorning the lid! Each little detail is perfect!
"You and Me" is a beautiful layout focusing on a very beautiful photo! The Coquette papers are combined effortlessly with Elysee ribbon trim and a sprinkling of altered Prima flowers (Belle Fleur, Black Tie and Christmas Bubble). The Say It In Crystal swirls add a touch of shimmer to this very elegant layout! ..............................................................................................................................................................................
"Prima Marketing, Inc. presents...Carla" ...Isn't this the cutest layout ever? Virginie chose a piece of cork as a background for this whimsical layout! The super large Crown Jewel flower just plays into the fun feel of this design! An array of other Prima products completes the layout: IOD rub-ons, Say It In Crystal swirls, various Prima flowers and IOD patterned papers. So much fun!
This close-up showcases the beautiful results of adding a bit of Glossy Accents and Perfect Pearls to your favorite Prima flowers! Truly gorgeous!
